Here is a documentary film, “Cotton Eyed Joe.”

It’s the first documentary film of Mr.John McDonald, whom I met when I was making a BTTF documentary in LA.

This short film shows that documentary films don’t have to use narration to tell the story.

Speaking of editing, the transition at 3:46 is unique and fascinating!

Also, the editing of the scene that children cast stones is really great, although it’s heartbreaking.

僕がバック・トゥ・ザ・フューチャーのドキュメンタリーを製作中にLAでお会いした、ジョン・マクドナルドさんの処女作です。

この作品はドキュメンタリーが物語を伝えるのに、必ずしもナレーションに頼る必要がないことを教えてくれます。

編集の面では、3:46の場面転換が変わっていて面白いです。

また、子どもたちが石を投げつけるシーンは心が痛みますが、編集が素晴らしいです。
